Fleet Feet Sports Rochester is holding a spring runwear fashion show Friday night at the company's Armory store.

The evening event will benefit UR Medicine's Golisano Children's Hospital, said Ellen Brenner, who owns and operates two Fleet Feet stores in Monroe County with her husband, David Boutillier.

Fleet Feet and its partner company, Yellow Jacket Racing, regularly produce races that double as fundraisers, but Brenner said she wanted to create a different sort of benefit that doubled as a celebration.

A fashion show, featuring local runners who will preview spring fitness clothing and gear from brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance and Brooks, will take place at the Armory store, 155 Culver Road, at 7:30 p.m. (Doors open at 7 p.m.). Accessories and clothing from the new Armory store Benrus will also be featured in the show.

I'll be among the guests on the runway, as will my colleague Gary Craig, the Democrat and Chronicle's watchdog public safety reporter and a seven-time marathoner. Also featured in the show are: Marti Casper, radio morning host of Legends 102.7; Molly Flaherty, owner of M/Body fitness studio in Rochester; Bill Hawken of G&G Fitness, a fitness equipment store in Henrietta; and Nick Vantucci of Cycle Swami, an indoor cycling center and yoga studio in Pittsford.

Tickets cost $20 per person and include beverages and snacks.

Each attendee will also receive $20 in store credit to be used only if shopping immediately after Friday's fashion show.
