1. Pharrell Williams' hat

The towering hat Pharrell Williams wore to the Grammys in January seemed silly at first, drawing comparisons to Smokey Bear and Arby's. That's until we found out it was a Vivienne Westwood creation and so iconic it went display in the Newseum's New York Times Great Hall of News this fall.

Rhianna left little to the imagination when she wore an Adam Selman sheer crystal-embellished halter dress to receive her Fashion Icon Award at the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards in June. The racy singer wore only a flesh colored thong under her see-through dress and no bra, of course.

8. Ralph Rucci's departure

10. Taylor Swift's year

She's gone from a lanky country girl with sweet style to a cool, chic pop star rocking bare midriffs and stilettos. Swift started the year off chopping off her signature long locks, then she upped her fashion game wearing everything from Oscar de la Renta to her fave, J. Mendel, proving a country girl can go big in fashion.
