Sustainable fit for slow fashion sweatshirt by designer Tom Cridland

With fast fashion becoming a signpost for a generation of younger consumers, London-based designer Tom Cridland has delivered something of a sharp rebuke in the form of a basic, unisex sweatshirt, guaranteed to last 30 years.

While the menswear designer is known for his stylish, hard-wearing chinos, which have been worn by the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Stiller and Daniel Craig, his sweatshirt takes sustainable fashion a step further.

Available in five colours, the crew neck sweater is made from 80 per cent organic cotton and 20 per cent polyester (which have been treated with silicon to avoid shrinkage) by Portuguese craftspeople using traditional knitting techniques.

Cridland will offer free repairs throughout the garment's proposed three-decade lifespan.
